Kaloko-Honokohau is topic of talk

Jeff Zimpfer will speak about the establishment of Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park in 1978, its natural and cultural resources, stewardship opportunities and long-term plans for the park.

The talk is from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority Gateway Energy Center.

It includes time before and after the presentation for questions, answers, and networking opportunities.

Amateur radio enthusiasts meet

The Kona Amateur Radio Society meets from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the south end of Wawaloli Beach Park at NELHA.

All members, friends and those interested in amateur (HAM) radio are invited. Attendees should bring a dish to share during the Thai-themed potluck.

Internist to speak on detoxing the body

Danuta Hoyer, an internist from Chicago, will speak from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Dragonfly Ranch.

Hoyer intends to share her knowledge of detoxing the body. Her talk will also address weight loss.

The talk is free. Those who want to stay to watch the sunset may bring an organic, vegetarian dish to share during the potluck.

HCFCU adds McGrady to executive team

Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan McGrady as vice president of operations. McGrady will be responsible for the overall supervision, direction, and evaluation of all operations of the credit union’s branches and call center, as well as all internal product and service delivery channels.

McGrady previously served as the branch manager at Yolo Federal Credit Union in Sacramento, California, and was later promoted to director of branch operations.

McGrady received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of California – Santa Cruz in 2007 and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from California State University — Monterey Bay in 2013.
